Why did I overlook Aspherical composition and sterile image quality?

I've noticed that many of those lenses don't have aspherical elements, but they can still make great photos with them.At one point I thought that every lens needed an aspherical element, but as I started looking into what was inside Leica's more affordable vintage lenses and M-glass,

I noticed that wasn't the case. The lens that just surprised me is the Leica 50mm f2 Summicron-M (Non-APO and Non-Aspherical versions). Yes, no aspherical elements. And the image quality it delivers is amazing. I'm reviewing the lens. But it's proven that we don't need to make lenses incredibly complicated. Brands can reuse classic lenses one way or another.
